Color Our World!

It’s time for the 2025 Summer Reading Program! Our 2025 program is Color Our World, taking us on a journey to explore art and creativity and celebrate the ways art enriches our lives. This year, the program is open to everyone, and we have three age groups:

  • Children: Ages 0-12
  • Teens: Ages 12-18
  • Adults: Over 18

The Summer Reading Program runs from June 02 – August 02, 2025. Registering to participate unlocks the chance to win fun prizes by meeting your summer reading goals! We also have fun events all summer long, for all ages. There’s something for everyone!

You can earn raffle tickets by completing reading challenges (Click the image above to view some of the prizes).

Downloadable Resources

Here are some fun activities! We have physical copies of everything in the library, but you can also download and print them at home.

Here are some fun art-related tools on the Internet!

(All links come from well known and respected educational institutions, but please always practice Internet safety! From the cybersecurity business Kapersky: “A key element to look out for is an SSL/security certificate. This means, lookout for URLs that start with “HTTPS” rather than “HTTP” (the “S” stands for “secure”) and have a padlock icon in the address bar.”)

Give Us Your Feedback

We aim to make the Summer Reading Program better every year! We ask all parents/guardians who have a child participating this year to fill out a short survey about your experience. We will consider your responses as we plan for the 2026 Summer Reading Program!

Where to Find Free Books

Summer reading is accessible to everyone! Here are a few ways you can read for free this summer:

  • Get a library card! If you don’t already have one, you can fill out an application here.
    • We have hundreds of physical books across all age groups and genres in the library. You can check out up to 10 books at a time!
    • There are even more ebooks and audiobooks available through Libby, which you have free access to with your library card.
    • We have a shelf of free books at the library, curated by Friends of Libraries and Literacy, feel free to take one!
    • Want to read a book that isn’t available at any of these locations? Ask the front desk about Interlibrary Loans!
  • Sign up for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library so your children 0-5 years old can receive a free, brand new book in the mail every month.
  • Make an account with New Mexico Reads for access to a digital collection of Southwest ebooks and audiobooks.
  • All New Mexico residents have access to El Portal, which has ebooks, newspapers, and more.
