Sam Barrett is a dashing young cellist who has studied at Oberlin Conservatory and performed with the New Mexico Philharmonic. Mr. Barrett won First Place in the demanding Strings Division of the 2017 Jackie McGehee Young Artists’ Competition (Music Guild of New Mexico) and has played in a number of ensembles, including California’s Idyllwild Summer Symphony Orchestra, and in venues including Popejoy Hall, the Lensic Theater, Carnegie Hall, and Costa Rica’s National Theater. The program includes works by J.S. Bach, Robert Schumann, Gabriel Fauré, Niccolò Paganini, and others. Free program, no registration required.
